Connecting you with trusted local providers
4Drive Argentina links travellers with local rental companies operating across the country. We handle the booking process online, you collect the vehicle from the provider on the ground. Each rental is supplied by an independent company in the city you choose, and you sign the agreement directly with them when you pick up the keys.
Our platform simplifies the search and reservation steps, so you arrive with a confirmed voucher and a clear set of terms. The local company verifies your documents, records the vehicle condition in the rental agreement, and hands over the keys. If you need extras - a second driver, child seat, or written permission to cross into Chile - those are arranged as paid add-ons during booking.
Start by selecting your pick-up city and dates. The search returns a list of available vehicles, each showing the model, transmission, and payment requirements specific to that machine. When you find a match, you pay a booking advance online by card to secure the reservation. Cash is not accepted for online payment.
Once the advance is processed, you receive a voucher by email. That voucher contains the local company's contact details, the pick-up address, and the balance due on collection. The balance payment method - debit card, cash, or credit card - depends on the individual vehicle and is stated in both the booking summary and the voucher. Some vehicles require a credit card for the security hold; if you only have a debit card, check with your bank about raising the limit before you travel.
At pick-up time you present your driving licence, the voucher, and a payment card. The rental company completes the paperwork, notes any existing damage on the agreement, and releases the vehicle. Return follows the same process: the company inspects the vehicle, closes the contract, and releases the security hold if one was placed.
We work with local providers in ten cities across Argentina. Each location has its own fleet and its own team, so the make and model selection varies by region. The current network covers:
Pick-up methods differ: some companies operate a desk at the airport terminal, others meet you outside, and a few deliver to your hotel. The exact procedure is confirmed in your voucher.
Many of the vehicles on our platform come with a no-deposit option: the rental company does not place a hold on your card when you collect the keys. That policy is independent of collision cover or excess - there is still a damage excess stated in the rental terms, and you remain responsible for that amount if the vehicle is damaged. The absence of a security hold simply means your card limit stays available for other expenses during the trip.
Not every vehicle qualifies. The booking page and voucher make it clear whether a hold will be applied and, if so, how much. If you need to keep your card free, filter the search results for machines that carry the no-deposit tag. More details about how the system works are on the dedicated page.
